Art Walk 2017- Super Late Edition

Whats up?

So last weekend I participated in my second year at the Art Walk down on Whyte Ave in Edmonton.

As is the way things go, there was a scorching heat wave during this weekend. Because, what is an outdoor celebration of art without heat stroke and possible skin cancer. Really.

Speaking of which, check out my awesome/weird sunburn.
20170709_205427
It is literally just right there. And only there. The rest of my arm is perfectly fine. The rest of ME is perfectly fine (there might be a slight red spot on my upper back, but eh), its just this spot. How fucking obscure.

Because of my location I couldnt set up the tent I decided to invest in this year…. That was a great choice to make. So I know for next year to pick a better location. One that allows all day coverage provided by my brand new, never got to be used tent. P.S. If anyone would like to have me for an outdoor festival of any sort… I HAVE MY OWN TENT.

Slightly bitter, but moving on.

So the rules of the Art Walk are pretty simple. The majority of your display must be 80% originals, so not prints. Fair enough. Otherwise it would be print artists everywhere. So I had a rather large display…. Because I have a lot of canvas stuff. And I framed my other originals in order to properly display them.

After the first day I rotated my column of grid wall to be on the other side, so as to provide shade for me during the first half of the day. And then the grid wall on the table provided shade for the second half of the day. Not just a hat rack, my friend.

Unfortunately because a lot of stuff was originals, and also original pieces not fan art, the price points were higher and not as many people were willing to throw down the moneys on my weird stuff. Which I totally get. My fan art pieces sold almost instantly though.

I found out I could order pizza to my table on the Ave though. That was pretty rad. And I also found out that a lot of my new stuff scares people. Mostly kids. But still…. High five me.

Also one of the photographers of the Art Walk caught me working on some doodles. Which I thought was pretty nifty.

Its probably one of the best pictures I’ve ever seen of me working that wasn’t like a self timer thing from my phone.

I would have tried to dress up more in my usual style but it was FUCKING HOT. So I kept it comfy. Sloppy, but comfy. Kept the goggles though.

Anyway, I’m doing my best to get commissions done now that I have a bit of a break before I head out to Ganbatte Con in Saskatoon. I know I’ve fallen pretty far behind on those thanks to… life…

Honestly, it seems like when one issue has finally been dealt with, 6 more pop up… It’s gotten pretty overwhelming for me. But I’m doing my best to just… not feel like dying. Which is really all I can do. I’m hoping that if no new things pop up, I should be right as rain soon.

Anyway, the paint I was waiting for should be dry now, so I’m gonna get back to work. Hopefully I’ll see you guys in about a week at Ganbatte!

Ciao!

Otafest 2017

Greetings and salutations my humanites.
It’s been a while.
20170704_175816

Life has been unfortunately kicking me hard. And it turns out, I bruise pretty easily. But I also lack the ability to know when to quit, so…. here I am.

Lets start this off with all the joy and wonder that is Otafest.

20170702_093704Β Ooooo, table full of art stuff.

ANYWAY. HERES THE GOOD SHIT.

ALL THE FUCKING EYE CANDY.
I also can’t take credit for any of these. I was too busy being a sloth to take cosplay pictures. So all credit for these can go to my dear friend Mr Buttons: Here. I just asked to borrow them for the sake of this blog thing I do when I remember to post.

I DID TAKE ONE PICTURE THOUGH!
20170701_104413
LOOK AT HOW AWESOME THAT IS. And thats why I took a picture of it.
And that is quite literally it.

Other than that I completely spaced on getting to see PINGAME…. So, I’m just going to kick myself about that a couple more times. I WILL NOT MISS OUT NEXT TIME. And I seriously hope there will be a next time. (*slaps forehead* stupid stupid Arty)

I got to stay with some friends again for the Con, and as always, lots more fun than renting a room. I brought the joy of a fictional boy band movie into their life, and their world is forever changed. For better or worse, we shall see.

And thats a wrap.

Now I’m getting myself prepared because starting tomorrow is the Art Walk on Whyte Ave. I’m going to be using this opportunity to sell off the originals for a lot of pieces. Helps free up some room here in my studio/office. And makes more space for more depressing brain candy…. bleh.

And then after that I get 2 weeks to finally work on those commissions that have stacked up and people have been super patient about. SERIOUSLYYOUGUYSARETHEBEST.

Anyway, I have a few more things to tweak before the long days of this weekend .

Ciao.

My Northern FanCon Experience…

I would like to start off by saying, that Northern FanCon as a convention is absolutely fantastic. The venue was good, the attendees were spectacular, and all the volunteers were wonderful. All in all, as a convention it was amazing!

But unfortunately for me, I had other stuff going on which caused me not to really enjoy myself.

I don’t quite remember whether or not I’ve ever really talked about anything like this, but I’m pretty sure if you’ve been following me for a while it is quite apparent… I tend to deal with a lot of mental baggage. Depression, was a major part of my life for quite a while. Still creeps up on me from time to time, but all in all, not as big an issue as it used to be. Unfortunately I also deal with anxiety and a few other things that cause me to be a bit of a walking train wreck…

Anyway, I had started feeling out of sorts during the Calgary Expo, but because I was on the go that whole weekend, and when I came back, I never really got a chance to deal with it. And then I was off to B.C. for Northern FanCon…

The trip there and Friday seemed fine.

Things didn’t seem too bad until Saturday morning. Things had started to pile up, and my brain was already having a hard enough time dealing with all that (stress, unpleasant texts/emails, being at a new convention, being in an unfamiliar city, general feeling of not being good enough, etc), and then that morning I had gotten some more unkind words via social media site…. So that got added to the pile that was at this point starting to topple. And then someone was nice, and offered me advice…. Unfortunately, my brain didn’t hear it as advice, because the advice also involved critique, and that apparently was the feather on the pile… enough weight to bring everything down.

I spent pretty much all Saturday telling myself that if I waited 7 more hours, 6 more hours, 5 more hours…. I could go back to my room and work it out there. Honestly, though… I wanted to run away. I wanted to find a quiet corner some where and cry until the squeezing pressure in my chest and head was gone.

But I sat, and I smiled. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, but I talked to everyone who came to my table. I made jokes. And I took deep breaths between every encounter. Counting down the hours. Trying to keep myself distracted with phone games and doodles.

I almost made it to the end of the day too. But one of my friends from another booth came to see me, and when they asked if I was ok, they knew I was lying when I said I was. And then they gave me a hug. And it all came out…

I had to go for a walk after that. Eventually calming down enough to make it through the last 30 minutes.

After the con, I walked back to my room… trying to not cry as much, because nothing seems more pathetic than a girl crying all the way “home”. But when I got to my room I definitely let it out…. And then I felt like an idiot for not packing any paint, because I probably could have made a kick ass picture with how I was feeling at that moment.

Sunday was a bit better…. I was mentally exhausted. And physically, at that point as well. I probably looked as drained as I felt. I remember someone who had seen me on Saturday telling me I looked tired on Sunday.

So…. I didn’t get any good pictures for you guys. And I’m sorry…. But thats why. I was so tied up in my own head that pictures and everything like that just didn’t seem important to me.

I’m sorry I let my head stuff get in the way of what I try to keep as a fun blog…. But it still is my blog, so… bleh πŸ˜›

Since I have been home I have received numerous kitty cuddles, and have eaten more than enough junk food to qualify me as a glutton. I have also been able to talk with friends and paint and doodle whatever remaining feelings I had about the last 2 weeks… So I am doing better now. I’m not exactly 100%, but I am definitely better than I was before.

I’ll try to make the next post a more interesting one.

Ciao.

Calgary Expo 2017

CalgaryExpoLogo

Whats happening?!

So probably one of the biggest shows of the year has come to a close. And it was quite the adventure for me. I got to meet so many of you awesome folks that for some reason follow my page and encourage me to keep making things. And I got to see a bunch of people I haven’t seen in a long time! All in all it was a whimsical weekend full of awkward moments and warm, fuzzy feelings.

20170427_125420

I was actually pretty busy, even though I was initially worried because I was in the Big Four and not the BMO building. I thought no one would want to venture all the way over to the other building just to visit and/or browse. But considering they put Stan Lee and the Toddfather in the Big Four…. I think the traffic between the two buildings was pretty even πŸ˜›

I never did get around to seeing either of the two above mentioned idols… Mostly because as I said, I was fairly busy. But I will just be humbled with the knowledge that I spent the entire weekend under the same roof as those two. Which is not something I could have said before.

On Thursday I got the joy and nauseating privilege to do my “Pretending to Adult” panel. Thinking it would be a smallish crowd like last time I was overwhelmed when I saw the line that went around the corner from the door. Needless to say I got pretty nervous… There was some expelling of my lunch. And some violent shaking as I got lead into the panel room. IT WAS A FULL HOUSE. Seriously. It was pretty mind blowing for me. And because of the success, I was asked to do it again next year. Obviously with like, more stuff to talk about…. It would be boring if it was all the same stuff. But thats pretty rad, right? Anyway, I wish I had gotten a shot of the full house, but the only picture I have I pulled off of a site called “The Weal” and it was labeled “Faux Adult”.
20170427-Online_Calgary_Expo_Thursday_2017_CK-CK-0158-360x180
Oh yes. The most unflattering picture in the history of ever. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate this? Ah, yes. The only photo evidence to show I did the panel and here it is.

Other than the panel, I was chained to my table pretty much the entire convention. But some friends of mine took some really awesome shots of cosplay around the con, so I borrowed a few of their pictures πŸ˜› As is the McFly style. I’ll link my friends FB accounts under the pictures.
FB_IMG_1493656582054FB_IMG_1493656585592FB_IMG_1493656592729FB_IMG_1493656602099FB_IMG_1493656606255FB_IMG_1493656613224FB_IMG_1493656617182FB_IMG_1493656621224FB_IMG_1493656635187FB_IMG_1493656640414FB_IMG_1493656652830FB_IMG_1493656669046FB_IMG_1493656682213
These were all taken by my friend Kiba Kowazoe. Who also make awesome chain mail stuffs: MeTlAttire. They have these adorable kitty ears and bell collars that I just LOVE. Seriously. Check them out.

And because I can, here are a few more pictures I found on the Calgary Expo FB page:
18119378_10155253834379911_7159727571840585277_n18193812_10155256800454911_4733312837132921160_n18198180_10155255944654911_2408250754675574516_n
I 100% did not take these and found them on the Calgary Expo Page: here

I had so much fun and loved seeing so many amazing cosplayers out and about. I was right by cosplay corner as well and was fan girling over all the amazing peoples that were over there. But of course I didn’t talk to any of them…. you need confidence and stuff for that sort of thing. But I eyed them from afar and hoped they could hear my thoughts. They didn’t. I’ll try again next year.

Other than that I spent most of the time out of con being watched:
20170428_093157

And tested my limits to see how many mini-donuts I could possibly fit inside my giant mouth at one time. The limit seemed to be 5. But there will be other conventions and other donuts. The limit will be pushed.
20170430_092547

The drive home consisted of me singing loudly and badly to Poison and playing air drums with twizzlers. All in all, the perfect journey home from a pretty spectacular weekend. And of course, when I arrived home I was greeted by my adoring fur-babies. Who immediately inspected every aspect of my luggage.
20170430_230525

And thats all there is for now folks!

I get 3 days at home (well, 2 now), and then I’m off to BC for Northern FanCon! Whee! Its a shorter journey than Kelowna, but it should still be pretty fun. I’ve never been to Prince George before, so…. I’m looking forward to it πŸ™‚

Manitoba Comic Con 2017

A little late in posting, but better late than never πŸ˜›

So I made the long journey to Winnipeg, Manitoba once again. This time for the Manitoba Comic Con. This event is run by the same people who run C4, so it was still super well organized and I had no issues with finding my table and all that stuff. Super helpful staff and it was in the same building as C4, so I didn’t get lost finding the place πŸ™‚

The convention itself was about 1/4 to maybe 1/3 the size of C4. So, pretty small in comparison to the massiveness that I experienced in October. But they still did their best to load the space with as much interesting stuff as possible. My only beef was that they had live wrestling matches in the hall…. Which were probably super entertaining to some folks, but to the some of us trying to hold conversations with people interested in talking art or fandoms, it made it a little difficult. The wrestling was loud. And it was echoed all throughout the hall. So yeah, that was my only ding on the long list of check marks. Luckily the wrestling only happened like 3 times spaced throughout the day, so it still left lots of quieter times for chatting and stuff.

Surprisingly enough I was super busy! So I didn’t get to snap any pictures myself again… But as is my slacker style, I borrowed some from the C4 facebook page.
FB_IMG_1491319683517
Tee hee, its me. Moving on to the others.

FB_IMG_1491319352872FB_IMG_1491319711153FB_IMG_1491319700880FB_IMG_1491319671579FB_IMG_1491319561566FB_IMG_1491319414488FB_IMG_1491319390446FB_IMG_1491319692915FB_IMG_1491319231070

You can find all these pictures and more on the C4 Facebook Page. Again. I DON’T OWN THESE. I DIDN’T TAKE THESE. MERELY BORROWED IN ORDER TO MAKE THE BLOG MORE INTERESTING.

Besides the convention itself, I stayed on someones couch. As is how I roll. And didn’t get around to exploring much of Winnipeg itself. I’m hoping come C4 that I can change that. It would be pretty rad to get out and explore the city a little more.

And I don’t have any travel pictures…. because honestly the trip from Alberta to Manitoba is just 20+ hours of flat. Very, very flat. Occasionally I saw a lake or pond. But mostly just flat. Which was great for the trip home because I could sleep and not have to worry about so many twists and turns that I fall off the bus seat!

But now that I am home (all bad news aside, which I will tackle in another blog post), I have been setting myself to work creating some more goodies for the end of this month! If anyone is going to be at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo, look me up! I have a panel I’ll be doing and of course I’ll have my table there. I’ll probably post more information about everything later on after I get through the majority of all my projects here.

Anyway, like I mentioned, I have quite a number of projects to work on, so I better get on that. Hopefully I can see you guys at the next event πŸ˜‰

Kelowna Fan Xpo 2017

HEY!

So its been another weekend and another adventure in the McFlyverse. This time I got to do the super long and slightly crampy bus ride to Kelowna and back. It was definitely a journey, but it was definitely worth it.

Nothing of major interest happened on the journey there. I left around midnight on Friday morning and arrived in Kelowna at around 5pm that evening. My plan was to go exploring the Kelowna area that evening, but it was kind of raining and I was pretty worn out from the travel, so I spent pretty much the whole time in my bed watching K-Dramas and eating popcorn.

20170324_170657

This was my bed/living space for the two nights I was staying in Kelowna. I decided to try staying at the Samesun Backpackers Lodge. Super cool place. Definitely recommended.

So the next morning I loaded up my stuff and made my way to the convention area. And about half way there I took this picture:
20170325_091150

This was where I had to stop because I felt like if I didn’t take a break I was going to die. At least the view of my death would have been pleasant. Right?

Anyway… I got there and set up. Still in my sleep clothes, I will add, so after I set up I went and got dressed. A super lovely and colourful lady gave me a hair elastic because I forgot mine. And my bangs decided to look extra greasy and lifeless. Thanks hair!

But then all the fun began! So here it is, the photos!

20170325_11045520170325_12561420170325_13533920170325_14262220170325_15355220170325_16544220170325_173241IMG_20170326_001341_161IMG_20170326_001345_869

Those last two were provided by mangakaluna on Instagram. They are the Shippo in this picture. So if you want to see more, click on her name for a link to her instagram!

At least I managed to get some this time and not have to borrow others πŸ˜› I was pretty busy though, so I didn’t quite get the amount I wanted…. But some is better than none! Right?!!?

I did also get my picture taken with the Okanagan Batman, who kept reminding me that I have friends (lol) and was really into fist bumps.

After the con I went back to my bunk and died loudly from dragging all my crap back. But was then invited out for board games and food with some newly made con friends. I was taken to this place called Muninn’s Post, and its totally rad! I didn’t take pictures while I was there, but I found this one from Google of the bar/counter area.
bar-700x525

So you can kind of get an idea of the theme of the place. And there were board games! And foods! And it was great fun! I had the poutine and it was probably the best one I’ve had in a long time. SO GOOD.

We then headed to Boston Pizza because apparently there was a thing going on there, but we arrived when pretty much everyone had left…. Cuz yknow. Just that awesome. It was still fun. Sat and chatted and then I went back to my bunk. Where I was supposed to sleep because I had to catch my return bus home, but I spent so much time thinking I would oversleep and miss it that I didn’t sleep at all.

So I caught my super early bus running on basically no sleep, and then proceeded to sleep pretty much the entire way to Calgary. I only got one picture on the way back that wasn’t total crap and the rest of the time I just slept that horribly uncomfortable sleep one only gets via bus.

Oh! But there was some drama that kept me awake. We got to one of the BC stops and the bus driver announces again (for probably the billionth time) that the bus is heading to Calgary. And this woman and her very annoying daughter suddenly shriek and cause a fuss because they though the bus was heading to Kamloops or something. So they start freaking out because they basically just spent 4 hours on the wrong bus going in the opposite direction.

And bonus drama: Same BC stop, different story. The bus drivers are switching over, so the old one is handing over the tickets to the new one and then the new one is counting heads. And then suddenly he announces that theres more people on board than there are tickets. Dun dun DUNNNNN. Someones being a sneak. And he asks for whoever might not have given there ticket to the bus driver earlier on to please come forward so we can be on our way. He asks nicely about 3 times. Although by the third time hes gotten a bit grumpy… Understandably. And then he finally announces that now hes going to through and look at everyones receipts, and if he finds the person who didnt come forward that they will have to deal with the consequences. Ominous. Its like when youre mom threatened you with the “…or else” statement, nothing good could come of this. So he starts going through the receipts, and the mystery person is found! It was some young guy, so I kind of feel sorry for him. Anyway, they get him to step off the bus with his stuff, and they basically give him a gigantic blast of shit. Both bus drivers. Apparently the kid got on at an earlier stop and didnt bother to wait for the bus driver. Just hopped on the bus. So all this yelling is going down, the guy is crying, and then he runs away. I dont know what happened to him, but I hope he managed to get things sorted and find a way home or to wherever he was going.

DRAMA ASIDE! Here’s all the random travel pictures I took when I was awake on my journey to Kelowna and the one at the end I took on the way back πŸ˜›

What a trip πŸ™‚

And I get to go on another this upcoming weekend to Winnipeg! Maybe I’ll see some of you there…? That would be pretty rad πŸ˜›

Anyway, I’m going to go lay back down seeing as my body feels like its been hit by a truck…

Ciao!

Titans Japanime Festival

Another weekend has come and gone, so here’s the update!

I did a small local convention this time around. It goes by the name of Titans Japanime Festival and its held in Harry Ainley High School. So yeah, super tiny in comparison to yknow, the gigantic Expos and whatnot. It was the first time I had done this one, but it was literally $10 for the table. So really…. Why not?

As small as the con was, it was actually pretty full of stuff! They utilized a good portion of the school to put it on. Panels were being held in certain classrooms, there were games and all sorts of nifty things going on.

And of course there were cosplayers and a cosplay contest. Why wouldn’t there be?

But I, again, suck at taking any and all pictures…. I was put beside a table selling second hand manga… And luckily the lady was super nice and up for trades! So I traded from prints for the entire Shaman King series…. And that left me pretty distracted for the rest of the day >.>

If I wasn’t talking to someone at my table, I was nose deep in one of the issues. And I quite literally have been since I got them. I’ve had to pry myself away in order to do anything else… I LOVE READING THE MANGAS.

But I do have to keep my nose out of the books for a while. Coming up in less than 2 weeks is my trip to BC for the Kelowna Fan Xpo! And I have some stuff I want to finish up by then. Including the second Monster Book.

I’m a little nervous this time around because I will be there completely solo this time. No friends hanging around the city waiting to pick me up or anything afterward… I’m heading there by bus, and I’ll be heading back the same way. So, I’m nervous… but also kind of excited. It’s a whole new adventure for me! I pinky promise to get lots and lots of pictures this time.

Well, I have lots to work on, so I best get to it.

Ciao!

Red Deer Extravaganza!

6111

Whats happening internet peoples?!

So this last weekend I went to Red Deer for their Pop Culture and Cosplay Extravaganza. It was their first year running this one, but because I attended last years Red Deer Expo I figured it would be just as much fun.

I wasn’t *completely* wrong. It was fun! I met a lot of fun people, lots of people I am now currently stalking via the use of instagram and other internet sources, and didn’t do half bad in the spreading of my virus that is my art.
20170304_091205

As much fun as I had, I can’t say it was had by all…. Because this was a completely separate entity from the Red Deer Expo of the year before, the venue, layout, team, and advertising was all different. So unfortunately some of my other vendor/artist friends were feeling the strain of the difference 😦 By the second day, a handful of people had left…. Which definitely sucks. Especially if you were waiting for the second day to walk around and look at stuff.

The only other thing I would ding as a negative is that for some reason or another it was freakishly cold. Like… Sitting in a giant refrigerator cold. Almost a freezer. I was definitely feeling it a bit more than some because I caught a draft from the doors every time they opened too >.< But it gave me a reason to get up and wander. Or dance. Or both. I also had a reason to buy the niftiest gloves ever to keep my digits warm! (I don’t have pictures of those yet :()

Despite the chillies, the cosplay in Red Deer once again did not disappoint! Like, holy crap. You Red Deerians love your cosplay and I am impressed/jealous at your passion for it. I didn’t end up snapping many pictures myself because my hands were either in my new gloves or busy helping people with stuffs, but the Red Deer Extravaganza page uploaded a bunch and other people also uploaded pics to it, so I “borrowed” some for this blog:

Tiny Shredder made my weekend. And he totally won the kids cosplay contest! Which I think was totally well deserved.
You can check out all the other picturesΒ HERE. Like I said: I DID NOT TAKE ANY OF THESE AND I JUST BORROWED THEM FOR THE SAKE OF THIS BLOG.

Along with my peddling of wares, I also did my “Pretending to Adult” panel. Which was….. Well, I didn’t throw up. And really, thats whats really important. I was so nervous I rushed through all my material in under 15 minutes and I was supposed to fill 45…. basically, I have some things to work on. And I’ve definitely learned some things to apply to the next time I get to do one of these. If you want to check it out, the video can be found on the Red Deer Extravaganza page (link is under the pics) or on my fb page:Β Facebook.com/MintBlueRockets

All in all, despite the chill and the new location, I had a fantastic time! I laughed, met the peoples, made new friends, all the fun stuff I look for when I go to these things. I hope they do it again next year and I hope I get to come back along for the ride!

Now I must get to work on an idea I started playing with last night. I’m kind of excited for it.

Ciao!

The Whole Thing About Yoda

20170208_122609

As mentioned in previous posts something pretty serious went down with my handsome furry bestfriend Yoda on Tuesday.

What I thought would be a pretty typical weekday morning turned into a whole ordeal that had me practically in hysterics.

Yoda ended up getting a blockage in his bladder area that apparently left untreated would have resulted in him dying in just a matter of days. And my choices handed to me by the vet were: A) Spend a fuckload of money, he stays in the animal hospital a few days being monitored and get everything good to go for sure before he comes home. B) Spend a wackload of money which gets him good to go but hes sent home as soon as the operation is done and he has to be monitored at home. C) Euthanized.

WONDERFUL OPTIONS HUH?!?!

Obviously, I already took option C off the table. But I am definitely not rolling in the moneys over here… What with a career in the arts and everything. So I immediately started phoning damn near everyone I could think of that might even possibly be able to float me a couple of moneys to save my baby. Keep in mind I’m bawling my eyes out as I’m calling these people… Probably not something they wanted to hear on a Tuesday morning either.

I get interrupted in my calls by the vet to be reminded that hes very time sensitive and the sooner I don’t do anything the closer he is to death. THANKS. LIKE I DIDN’T ALREADY FEEL LIKE RIPPING MY HEART OUT ENOUGH AS IT IS.

I get back to calling and calling and calling…. Messaging people on facebook too at this point. I had other people helping me with calls to people they might know. And after what seemed like forever I managed to get enough together for option B. Not the bestest best option, but it will be able to save his life and honestly that’s all I could really ask for.

Finally able to pay the vet they are able to operate… but because of how long it took for me to gather the moneys I didn’t get to see him before they started the operation. They pretty much had to put him under right as soon as I said “HEY I GOT MONEYS” and start operating or he would have been in even worse shape….

And then I had to head to my part time gig. So for about 6 hours I had no idea if he was going to be ok…..

Luckily, HES OK! And I have my big dumb-dumb boy home and happy. I have to medicate him every 8 hours and he has to eat special food or else he could relapse…. but I think thats all worth it to have him alive.

One of the slightly funny things that happened was when the vet asked me how I knew he was sick and I said “because hes my best friend. I could tell just by looking.” And the vet looked at me like a crazy person. But it was pretty true. I could tell before he even started howling at me. Yoda and I are totes besties.

To cap this off: Heres Yoda on the day I got him.Β fb_img_1472569211685

Year of the Rooster

I couldnt stand being cooped up any longer! So I bundled up and went on an adventure today.

I love going to the Muttart Conservatory. I absolutely adore being able to sit there and relax. Especially on weekdays when theres little to no people. Its so peaceful and just helps me chill… And after working as much as I have been lately I definitely needed some chill.

And I love when they do their “Year of the ______” feature pyramids! They are probably my favourite ones. Besides when they did the Middle Earth pyramid. That was totally rad.

So anyway, heres the photo dump of all the pictures I took while I enjoyed the colours and scents of the Year of the Rooster pyramid!

And bonus! The Saucer Magnolia was in bloom in the Temperate pyramid! They only bloom for a week a year, so it’s pretty nifty I was able to catch it.

Now if I get as many pictures at conventions as I do of plants we’ll be doing good this year πŸ˜›

Now I gotta get back to work. I have quite a few projects on the table at the moment. I can’t wait til they’re done so I can finally share them with you!

Ciao!
